Occupational Health Services
Dr. Martine Charles is approved to conduct DOT physicals in the highly regulated commercial drivers' safety sector. During the examination, she evaluates your mental, physical, and emotional state to determine if you can safely operate a commercial vehicle. This is what you can expect during a DOT physical:
- Medical history review
- Measuring your weight, height, pulse, blood pressure, eyes, ears, breathing, and range of motion
- Discussion of medical conditions and clearances
We do more than drug and alcohol testing and DOT physicals. Non-DOT chiropractic care is available and includes spinal adjustments to align the spine and alleviate back and neck pain. Back and neck pain are two conditions that are quite common in the commercial transportation field.
Myofascial release treats musculoskeletal immobility that is affecting your range of motion. During this treatment, we alleviate your pain by helping you relax tight muscles. Myofascial release increases blood flow and helps get more oxygen to injured areas. Similarly, neuromuscular re-education exercises can help you regain controlled movement patterns. They are a common element in occupational and physical therapy as well.
Therapeutic exercises can be used to help you improve your functionality and range of motion to alleviate back or neck pain.
Mechanical treatment methods include mechanical traction, which helps relieve tension and realign the spine, and Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS), which is used as a rehabilitation tool for immobilized patients.
Ultrasound hydrotherapy alleviates pain. It uses sound waves to disseminate heat deep into your muscle tissues. This can reduce swelling, stiffness, and stimulate pain-free movement.
Cryotherapy exposes injured muscles to very cold temperatures for short periods. This can reduce pain and spur the body's natural healing process.
Personal Injury and Work Injury Services
Our chiropractor also performs chiropractic care for personal injuries, including vehicle accidents and work injuries, including conditions such as carpal tunnel, disc injuries, and sciatica.
